Feeding

A significant percentage of the Haitian population is undernourished. With generous contributions from our supporters, Life Connection Mission has hosted many soup kitchens (or, more literally, “rice and bean kitchens”) for those members of the community most in danger of starvation, such as children and the elderly.

Another “staple” of our mission outreach also involves the staple of the Haitian diet: rice. Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.” Our supporters help us combat hunger, share the love of Christ, and bring hope to our Haitian neighbors, one bag of rice at a time. Please visit the Caring Cart section of our webpage to learn how you can save a Haitian family from hunger with the simple contribution of a bag of rice.

Life Connection Mission's other feeding-based initiatives include:

  • Our school feeding program, which provides a nutritious meal to every student each school day. In some cases, this is the only daily meal the child will receive.
  • Donations of chickens, goats, cows, and other farm animals to provide an important source of food, from eggs to milk to meat, as well as life-sustaining micro-industries for their owners and their families.
  • Food distributions during disaster events, such as hurricanes, flooding, and earthquakes.

Jezi te di bay timoun yo manje

Jesus said to feed the children

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
-Matthew 25: 35-36
